Care Delivery Innovation: Reinventing Access and Expectations

Today, more and more clinicians are thinking like entrepreneurs, and more and more hospitals are acting like tech companies. They’re re-inventing not only the technology clinicians use every day, but also the services that go with it in order to transform the way care is delivered to patients.  In fact, the year 2014 yielded more companies claiming to be the ‘Uber for Health’ than ever before.  A poll was started at the at the Health 2.0 HQ to tally how many would declare similarity to this new model.  Eleven, it turns out. Or twelve when you count that Uber itself released an on-demand flu shot service shortly after our poll closed.  This session will cover everything from telemedicine and microvisits, to crowd-sourced innovation, and shifting consumer expectation for on-demand everything, health care included.
